We are children of God - each and every day

Image
I heard a song on the radio yesterday by the band Cain ( link to video ), and some of the lyrics really stuck with me.       "On my best day, I am a child of God.   On my worst day, I am a child of God."     What a simple, yet powerful, truth!   It is easy to feel that we are children of God on the good days. On the days when things are going well for us. On the days when we feel that we are doing what God has called us to do. On the days when we are obedient.   But what about the other days?     The days when we know we have strayed?     The days when we get heart-breaking news that shakes our world?     The days when we feel small, abandoned, lonely?     The days when God feels distant?     The truth is that we are no less children of God on the worst days than on the best days.     See what the Bible says: 1 John 3   Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that w...

God knows my name!

Oftentimes, when the Lord is trying to impress something upon me, He will either repeat a theme in my life several times in order to be sure I get it (I can be pretty hard-headed at times), or form a connection in my brain between two concepts. Looking at those images showing sprawling galaxies and countless stars it's easy to feel insignificant. The universe is so vast, and we are such an infinitesimally ...

Welcome to Sprinkled and Dunked

Welcome! I'm glad you're here. For a while now I have been occasionally sharing my spiritual ramblings, thoughts, and other assorted random musings on social media. But I wanted to have a place to gather them all. A place where anyone who might be interested in the latest strangeness floating around in my head could go. A place dedicated to sharing with others the glory of God and His great love for us. Hopefully, this will be that place. Some of what I share will be thoughts and ideas that I have already posted elsewhere, but that I think are worth repeating. And some will be new revelations that the Lord has shown me, either through my own quiet time and study or through the influence and impact of others in my life. Feel free to poke around and make yourself comfortable. And especially feel free to let me know when you think I am off-base on any topic. I may not agree with you, but I am always willing to explore and discuss my own beliefs - I will never claim to be infallibl...
